Las Vegas has unveiled a redesigned rideshare pickup area at Harry Reid International Airport’s Terminal 1, introducing “Fabulous Pickups” to enhance the traveler experience.
The launch took place on September 13 with showgirls, a DJ, and entertainment to welcome visitors arriving for Mexican Independence Day festivities and the high-profile Canelo vs. Crawford fight at Allegiant Stadium.
The new pickup space features vibrant lighting, expanded seating, and a custom neon selfie wall. Travelers can also look forward to select days when the area will host live music, DJs, and special activations as part of the larger “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” brand campaign. The initiative is designed to reflect the city’s reputation for excitement and hospitality from the moment visitors arrive.
A Vibrant First Impression
“Las Vegas is a city that sets the standard for excitement and hospitality, and we believe the visitor journey should reflect that from the very beginning,” said Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).
“With Fabulous Pickups, we’ve created a space that’s as vibrant, welcoming, and unforgettable as Las Vegas itself.”
The campaign goes beyond the rideshare area, extending to activations, experiences, special offers, and partnerships that will roll out in the coming months. The LVCVA intends the enhancements to encourage visitors to start sharing their experiences immediately, positioning Las Vegas as a destination that begins impressing guests from the airport onward.
More Than Just a Pickup Zone
In addition to the redesigned rideshare pickup, Terminal 1 will debut new photo moments. A large installation near the A/B checkpoint features the iconic Vegas Vicki sign, allowing visitors to pose for photos and share their excitement with friends and family before leaving the airport. The installation is scheduled to open on September 14.
“Our team at Harry Reid International Airport is dedicated to making every arrival memorable, and this new rideshare area is a testament to that commitment,” said Jim Chrisley, Clark County Director of Aviation.
“By partnering with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, we’ve created a space that’s not just functional, but also fun and welcoming. We’re proud to offer travelers a first impression that’s as distinctive as the destination itself.”
Harry Reid International Airport remains one of the busiest gateways in the United States, serving tens of millions of passengers each year. With the unveiling of Fabulous Pickups, Las Vegas aims to ensure that travelers’ first impression of the city matches its reputation as a global destination for entertainment and hospitality.
