Aman has opened reservations for Amanvari, its new luxury resort on Mexico’s Baja East Cape, ahead of the property’s official opening on 1 August.
The 18-casita resort is located within the Costa Palmas community on the shores of the Sea of Cortez. Aman said the project also includes a limited collection of Aman-branded residences, marking the brand’s latest expansion in the Americas.
Amanvari sits in a landscape where desert, estuary and coastline meet, with views towards the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. The resort includes swimmable beachfront access, dining venues focused on Baja’s seasonal produce, and an Aman Spa designed around wellness and outdoor experiences.
The property was designed by Elastic, with initial contributions from Heah & Co. Aman said the resort takes inspiration from the surrounding environment, including the East Cape’s desert plants, wildlife and marine ecosystems.
Guests staying at Amanvari will have access to amenities within the private Costa Palmas community, including a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course, private marina, yacht club, organic farms and orchards.
Outdoor activities include diving excursions in Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, off-road trips into the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, private fishing experiences in the Sea of Cortez and horseback rides across the coastline and desert.
“Amanvari marks a continued evolution of our vision to create destinations that are intrinsically connected to their environment,” said Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group.
“On the East Cape, where desert landscapes unfold into the Sea of Cortez, there is a rare sense of scale, stillness and natural rhythm. Amanvari has been designed to frame and celebrate this, inviting guests to engage with the land and sea in a way that feels both immersive and effortless.”
He added: “As we open reservations, we also mark an important moment in our continued expansion in the Americas, and we look forward to sharing the spirit of this remarkable coastline through the eyes of Aman.”
Each casita measures 82 square metres and includes a private heated pool, outdoor shower and terrace areas designed to maximise indoor-outdoor living. Interiors feature natural stone, timber and plaster finishes alongside custom furnishings and modern technology.
Aman said guest stays will include daily breakfast, in-room refreshments, bicycles, non-motorised water sports equipment and guided wellness activities.
The resort’s dining programme includes Arva, Aman’s signature Italian restaurant, and Sesui, a Japanese venue with a 10-seat omakase counter. Additional venues include the Lounge Bar, The Pool and Luma, a beachfront restaurant serving Mexican cuisine inspired by open-fire cooking.
The Aman Spa and Wellness Centre will feature a contemporary temazcal, two Hydro Houses with banya and hammam facilities, six treatment rooms, a beauty salon, yoga pavilion and a 24-hour fitness centre.
Aman Residences at the site include private pools, landscaped courtyards and dedicated services including housekeeping, private chefs and butlers. Residents will also have access to Aman Private Office services and customised adventure planning.
Aman said Amanvari represents another milestone in the company’s growth across the Americas and Caribbean, alongside projects including Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills, Amancaya in The Bahamas and Amansanu in Texas Hill Country.
