The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced that the 2016 ASTA Destination Expo (ADE) will be held in a city known as a mix of ancient and modern, one that takes what is old and makes it new again–the “Universal City” of Seville, Spain.
To be held June 2-5, 2016, ADE, which incorporates both educational sessions and extensive sightseeing for travel agents and a showcase for local suppliers, history, art, culture and natural beauty will come alive for travel consultants not only in the city of Seville, but also in the many surrounding beautiful regions during this show hosted by Turismo de la Provincia, Seville Tourism Board, Tourspain, Turismo Andaluz and the national airline, Iberia.
“What better place to take our members, professional travel agents, than to the apex between Europe and Africa,” said ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby. “This is a destination rich in culture and beauty. It is known not only as the birthplace of famous artists, conquerors and architects but also as the land of bullfighters, flamenco dancers and great chefs. Our members know that nothing replaces actually being there and experiencing a destination for themselves.”
ADE attendees will see the whole Andalusia region where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. ASTA is excited to take attendees to the European continent next year after traveling to Africa earlier this year for the Destination Expo in Morocco, and to North America in 2014 when it was held in Merida, Mexico.
More details on the show, accommodations and travel discounts on Iberia to Seville, a city exploding with life and color, will be revealed in the coming weeks on ASTA.org/ADE. Agents attending the ASTA Global Convention Aug. 29-Sept. 1 also will hear more about the country and ADE from Spanish tourism representatives, and receive on-site discounts to the Expo.
