Valencia’s hotels are nearly full for the May 1 holiday weekend as travelers rushed to make the most of sunny weather and time off. Final hotel occupancy across the region hit nearly 90%, driven in part by a surge in last-minute bookings that boosted figures by four percentage points.
The Valencian Community saw impressive results across major destinations, with Benidorm leading the way at 92.4% occupancy. Costa Blanca followed closely with 90.9%, while Valencia City hotels reached 91.8%. Even Castellón, often less crowded during spring holidays, managed a strong 85.7%.

Weather Played a Key Role
While many parts of Spain were impacted by rain and bad weather, the Valencian Community enjoyed sunny skies and mild temperatures. These favorable weather conditions helped sway holiday travelers to choose destinations along the Costa Blanca and in Valencia itself.
Hosbec President Fuster called the weekend results “a new test of the tourist season” that was “passed with notable success.”
Tourism Outlook for the Season
With such strong early-season results, the region is likely to see a strong summer if weather and travel trends continue. The May 1 figures could indicate growing traveler confidence and demand for coastal destinations offering sun, sea, and city life—all rolled into one.
As Spain enters the heart of its tourist season, Valencia and its neighboring provinces are well-positioned to stay ahead of the curve.
