Direct UK Routes to Cappadocia and Culinary Capital Gaziantep Now Flying

Pegasus Airlines is expanding its summer flight network with the launch of two exciting new direct routes from London Stansted Airport to Turkey. As of late June, UK travelers now have convenient, weekly access to two of the country’s most culturally and visually compelling destinations: Gaziantep and Kayseri, the gateway to Cappadocia.

The new routes are part of Pegasus Airlines’ ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the UK market, offering more diverse and affordable travel options for both Turkish nationals and international visitors eager to explore less-discovered gems of Türkiye. With one-way fares starting at £54 to Gaziantep and £84 to Kayseri, the airline continues to position itself as a budget-friendly option for summer exploration.

A Culinary Pilgrimage to Gaziantep

On 21 June, Pegasus Airlines inaugurated its direct flight from London Stansted to Gaziantep, a southern Turkish city renowned for its culinary heritage. Departing every Saturday at 20:40 from London, the flight returns on Sunday mornings at 04:20, making it an ideal schedule for weekend getaways or longer vacations.

Gaziantep’s reputation as Türkiye’s food capital is well-deserved. Recognized as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, the city boasts rich culinary traditions rooted in centuries of culture. Highlights include tender kebabs, fragrant spice bazaars, and the globally adored pistachio baklava. Beyond its gastronomy, the city offers historic sites such as the sprawling Gaziantep Castle and the world’s largest mosaic museum, providing a rewarding mix of flavors and history for curious travelers.

Direct to Cappadocia via Kayseri

Following closely on 25 June, Pegasus launched a direct weekly flight to Kayseri Airport, offering UK travelers an easy route to Cappadocia—one of Türkiye’s most magical regions. Flights depart every Wednesday evening at 20:40 and return from Kayseri on Thursday mornings at 04:30.

Located in central Anatolia, Cappadocia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its otherworldly terrain of soft pink rock, cave dwellings, and underground churches carved into stone. The Göreme Open-Air Museum, one of Türkiye’s earliest UNESCO sites, showcases the area’s rich religious and architectural legacy. From 7 to 10 August 2025, the region will host the Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Festival, where hundreds of balloons—some shaped like cartoon characters—rise at dawn, offering one of the most unforgettable travel experiences imaginable.

Win a Flight to Cappadocia

To celebrate the launch of the new Kayseri route, Pegasus Airlines is running a promotional giveaway in partnership with London Stansted Airport. Travelers can enter for a chance to win a pair of return tickets from London to Kayseri Erkilet Airport by visiting the airport’s official social media channels before 01 July 2025. The giveaway adds another incentive for travelers to consider Cappadocia for their next adventure.
