Turkish Airlines Works to Quickly Resolve Ticketing and Reservation Disruptions

Bilal Ekşi, the General Manager of Turkish Airlines (THY), has announced that the airline is progressively restoring its systems following disruptions in ticketing and reservation operations due to network infrastructure issues.

He assured that flights are gradually returning to normal and expressed hope that operations would be significantly normalized within a few hours.

THY has initiated efforts to resolve the disruptions caused by network infrastructure problems in ticketing and reservation processes. Yahya Üstün, the Press Advisor of THY, apologized for the inconvenience through a social media statement, ensuring that necessary actions are being taken to prevent passenger distress and resolve the issue promptly.

Despite the ongoing efforts, all flights departing from Istanbul have been canceled until 22:00 due to the issue. Üstün provided an update, stating that teams are working diligently across different centers to quickly fix the problem in the information technology infrastructure. He mentioned that there is no confirmed information regarding external interference at this time, and apologized again for the delays.

In a separate statement, General Manager Bilal Ekşi reiterated that the airline is in the process of restoring its systems and resuming flights, thanking passengers for their patience and understanding.

Additionally, THY has granted additional rights for changes and refunds to passengers with tickets for November 1-2, provided they make changes by November 7. Meanwhile, Istanbul Airport operator İGA has announced the provision of free internet services for passengers waiting at the airport.
