FIFA World Cup 2026 Drives Surge in RV Parks Near US Stadiums

RV parks near US stadiums hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup have sharply increased their online availability as operators prepare for a surge in travelling fans during the tournament.

New data from global hospitality platform RMS and outdoor hospitality online travel agency Spot2Nite showed RV park supply within 50 miles of US host cities more than tripled year-on-year for the June 10–20 tournament window.

The figures suggest campground and RV park operators are increasingly using online travel agencies and digital booking channels to attract football fans ahead of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

The findings arrive as parts of the traditional accommodation sector report weaker-than-expected booking momentum for the tournament. According to the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Hotel Outlook, 80% of surveyed hotel operators across US host cities said bookings were tracking below early forecasts.

The report cited international travel barriers, rising travel costs and FIFA room-block releases among the reasons affecting demand patterns.

RMS and Spot2Nite said the softer hotel outlook could create opportunities for RV parks and campgrounds to capture more visitors during the tournament.

Pricing data also showed major differences between host-city markets. Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Philadelphia recorded average nightly RV park rates ranging from $97 to $190 for the June 10–20 period.

Dallas and Kansas City reported lower average nightly rates of around $56 to $68, indicating some operators may not yet be treating the World Cup period as a premium demand event.

Houston emerged as the largest and most diverse RV park market among host cities. The area had more listed parks than any other host-city region, with nightly rates ranging from $41 to $223 and an average nightly price of $73.

Some Houston-area properties appeared to be pricing for elevated tournament demand, while others remained closer to regular summer pricing levels.

“With just a few weeks until the World Cup begins, this is the moment for RV parks and campgrounds to get serious about visibility, pricing and bookability. Fans are already planning, but demand will continue to move as teams progress and travel plans change throughout the tournament,” said Adam Seskis, CEO at RMS.

“For operators, this is not a set-and-forget demand opportunity. Parks need to monitor booking pace, local demand and match outcomes closely, then use dynamic pricing to make the most of each shift in demand. As teams advance, fans will follow, and operators need to be ready to adjust quickly as demand moves from one host city to another,” he said.

“The parks that win this demand will not simply be the ones with availability. They will be the ones that are easy to find, easy to book and priced for the moment,” added Seskis.

RMS said RV park and campground operators near World Cup host cities should continue reviewing pricing strategies, booking systems and distribution channels as tournament demand develops.
