NEST Baja Opens in East Cape Los Cabos as Part of Marriott’s Design Hotels

Namron Hospitality has unveiled its latest boutique retreat, NEST Baja, on the East Cape of Los Cabos, where the dramatic Baja desert landscape meets the Sea of Cortez. Formerly known as The White Lodge, the reimagined property is now part of Marriott International’s Design Hotels™ collection and marks the second location under Namron’s growing NEST brand, which began with the acclaimed NEST Tulum.

The transformation of the property is a collaboration between Namron and the hotel’s original founder, Giammarco Vela, a well-known entrepreneur and founder of Grupo Monalisa, and Stefano Frontani, an Italian interior designer. With its deep focus on sustainability, seclusion, and soulful design, NEST Baja is a continuation of Namron’s commitment to creating spaces rooted in responsible luxury and authentic cultural connection.

Design-Driven Seclusion by the Sea

Positioned as a sanctuary for reconnection and reflection, NEST Baja offers accommodations for just 24 guests. The hotel features 10 thoughtfully designed ocean-view suites and cottages, each equipped with rooftop terraces, plunge pools, fireplaces, and curated stargazing spots beneath Baja’s famously clear skies. The setting encourages slow, intentional travel immersed in natural beauty.

Plans are underway to expand the property with 14 private villas, each designed to harmonize with the surrounding environment while maintaining the intimacy and low-impact aesthetic of the original hotel. The villas will have access to all hotel amenities, reinforcing the sense of a cohesive yet private retreat experience.

Wellness Rooted in Ancestral Practices

At the heart of the property is an ancestral spa that blends indigenous healing traditions with modern sensibilities. Guests can participate in sacred herbal therapies, energy rituals, and traditional temazcal ceremonies. The spa’s open-air yoga deck offers panoramic views of the ocean, providing a serene backdrop for daily wellness rituals.

In addition, the property’s new beach club, located on the iconic Nine Palms surf beach, will be exclusive to hotel guests and is scheduled to open on May 1, 2025. It will extend the NEST ethos into a peaceful shoreline setting—perfect for morning meditations, sunset cocktails, or simply watching the waves roll in.

Culinary Offerings Inspired by Baja’s Land and Sea

The culinary program at NEST Baja is an evolving expression of seasonal flavors and regional ingredients. Menus feature dishes like Baja-style fish tacos, blue corn sopes, chickpea quesadillas, and guajillo-seared scallops. A favorite among early risers is the activated-charcoal avocado toast, served during sunrise as whales breach in the distance.

All meals emphasize fresh, organic sourcing and are designed to be nourishing yet indulgent. Guests are encouraged to engage with the culinary team and enjoy relaxed, open-air dining as part of the broader immersive experience.

Guests at NEST Baja are invited to explore the surrounding natural beauty through curated adventures and self-guided excursions. Complimentary electric fat-tire bikes are available for navigating the coastline or local trails. For those seeking more structured outings, the hotel partners with local guides to offer private surf lessons, whale watching tours, and desert explorations.

Each experience is thoughtfully designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing personal connection to the land and sea. Whether gazing at stars from a rooftop deck, participating in a sunrise yoga session, or riding the surf at Nine Palms, NEST Baja encourages travelers to slow down and rediscover themselves through nature.

Room rates start at $320 USD per night, and the property is now open for reservations. As Namron Hospitality’s eleventh hotel in Mexico, NEST Baja continues the brand’s mission to offer beautiful, deeply personal stays that respect culture, community, and environment—now elevated further through its partnership with Marriott’s Design Hotels™.
