The Lux Collective Brings Its Conscious SALT Brand to Bali’s Unspoilt Coast

The Lux Collective has signed a strategic hotel management agreement with Big Waves Development to launch SALT of Virgin Beach, a new eco-conscious resort set to open in Bali’s Karangasem region in the first quarter of 2028. The partnership marks The Lux Collective’s debut in Indonesia through its sustainability-driven brand, SALT, which focuses on mindful luxury and community engagement.

Located on Bali’s lesser-known Virgin Beach, the new beachfront resort will offer 84 rooms with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and Mount Agung. The property will emphasize environmental preservation and cultural connection, aligning with The Lux Collective’s global sustainability goals and Big Waves Development’s commitment to innovation and responsible design.

A Conscious Approach to Luxury Hospitality

SALT of Virgin Beach will be built with an eco-forward philosophy, incorporating coral reef restoration programs, plastic-free operations, and waste separation systems. All products used on the property will be sulfate-free, part of a broader effort to reduce ecological impact while maintaining luxury standards. The resort’s design aims to blend with its natural surroundings, offering a tranquil alternative to Bali’s more developed western coast.

Facilities will include a rooftop event venue designed for weddings and private celebrations, an in-house bakery sourcing local farm produce, and the SALT Equilibrium Spa. The spa will feature immersive wellness offerings such as float therapy, cryo-sauna treatments, and a “G-bar” dedicated to beauty and mental wellbeing. The hotel will also promote local artisans and cultural exchange through curated experiences that connect guests with Balinese communities.

Partnership Grounded in Shared Values

“Our strategic partnership with The Lux Collective is grounded in the shared vision to curate conscious living of the future,” said Maryna Bilobrovska, Chief Executive Officer of Big Waves Development. “We are inspired by hospitality partners who lead the curve in innovation. As a global hospitality leader, The Lux Collective’s sustainability-driven brand SALT is set to elevate our eco-centric lifestyle concept, where luxurious living meets sustainability.”

Olivier Chavy, Chief Executive Officer of The Lux Collective, said the partnership supports the company’s regional growth strategy. “In line with our global expansion and focus on the Asia region, this collaboration with Big Waves Development marks the Group’s first entry into Indonesia – at the vibrant destination of Bali with our purposeful brand SALT,” he said. “Big Waves is a progressive developer committed to building premium projects and communities.”

Nitesh Pandey, The Lux Collective’s Chief Operating Officer – Asia Pacific, added that the brand’s ethos is rooted in meaningful travel. “SALT is a humanistic approach to hospitality, connecting modern explorers with meaningful travel experiences,” he said. “Devoted to all things local and sustainable, SALT of Virgin Beach will take our guests to local people and deep dive into cultural heritage — not just to places in Bali – to immerse in the real essence of Bali.”

The project has already earned multiple international accolades, including two Asia Pacific Property Awards for New Hotel Construction & Design and Architecture Multiple Residence in Indonesia. The recognitions highlight the architectural innovation and sustainability principles behind the development.

As Bali continues to attract investors and high-net-worth travelers, SALT of Virgin Beach signals a shift toward purpose-led, environmentally conscious hospitality. By integrating luxury with sustainability, The Lux Collective and Big Waves Development aim to set a new regional benchmark for eco-luxury resorts in Southeast Asia.
