Wizz Air has launched a one-day sale with discounts of up to 15% on selected flights, aimed at travellers planning low-cost European trips for summer 2026.
The offer was available only on 2 July 2026 and ran until 23:59 that day, with travel dates set between 6 July and 10 September 2026. Fares were sold through the airline’s website and the WIZZ mobile app, and the discount applied only to the base fare.
The promotion covered selected routes from Italy to Craiova in Romania, Katowice in Poland and Skiathos in Greece, with prices starting from 14.09 euro on the lowest listed fare.
For travellers looking for an inexpensive break, the routes offered a mix of city trips and beach holidays. The fares were limited and excluded administrative fees and group bookings.
From Naples, passengers could fly to Craiova on 7 July from 14.09 euro. The Romanian city, the historic capital of Oltenia, is known for the Nicolae Romanescu Park, one of Europe’s largest urban parks, as well as its 19th-century architecture, museums and growing street art scene.
The route to Craiova appealed to travellers who wanted a lesser-known destination away from the busiest tourist circuits. Its central area combines cultural sites with green space, while the city also markets itself as an affordable option for a short summer escape.
From Rimini, Wizz Air listed flights to Katowice on 22 July from 22.59 euro. The Polish city, once an industrial centre in Upper Silesia, has developed into a modern urban destination with a strong mix of architecture, history and events.
Katowice’s Nikiszowiec district offers a look at its industrial past, while the Silesian Museum and the Spodek Arena remain among the city’s main draws. The area is also gaining attention for its young food scene and international restaurants.
From Rome Fiumicino, passengers could book flights to Skiathos on 14 July or 25 August from 22.59 euro. The Greek island is known for clear water, pine-covered landscapes and beaches such as Koukounaries and Lalaria.
Skiathos also has smaller coves and sea-access-only spots, making it popular with travellers who want quieter beaches during the peak season. Its old town, with cobbled streets, white houses and harbourfront tavernas, adds to its appeal for couples and groups alike.
The campaign underlined how airlines are still using short-term fare sales to fill summer flights and encourage last-minute bookings. For travellers, the limited-time promotion offered an opportunity to secure cheaper fares for late July and August departures, when demand is usually at its highest.
As with many airline offers, the headline discount did not cover all costs, and the cheapest seats were expected to go quickly. But for travellers prepared to move fast, the sale opened a window to book three varied European destinations at a lower price.
