American Airlines Offers AAdvantage Members Early Access to FIFA World Cup 26 Tickets

American Airlines will give its AAdvantage members an exclusive opportunity to redeem miles for FIFA World Cup 26™ match tickets, starting October 13. The initiative marks a milestone in the airline’s partnership with FIFA as the Official North American Airline Supplier for the 2026 tournament, set to take place across 16 cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The program allows AAdvantage® members to use their accumulated miles to secure early access to tickets for one of the world’s largest sporting events. The redemption window will open in phases based on membership status, giving elite members priority access before it becomes available to all participants.

Early Access and Redemption Schedule

Starting October 13, AAdvantage Executive Platinum® and ConciergeKey® members will be the first to redeem miles for FIFA World Cup 26™ match tickets. On October 14, access expands to AAdvantage Gold®, Platinum®, and Platinum Pro® members. Beginning October 15, all AAdvantage® members will be able to participate in the redemption program through the airline’s official platform.

“As the Official North American Airline Supplier of FIFA World Cup 26™, American is proud to help our AAdvantage® members be some of the first fans to score tickets to these iconic matches,” said Scott Long, Senior Vice President of AAdvantage®. “Our partnership with FIFA is just one of many ways we’re delivering meaningful value and unforgettable experiences to our most loyal customers, especially as we look ahead to American’s centennial year, which coincides with FIFA World Cup 26.”

The partnership between American Airlines and FIFA was first announced in April in collaboration with Qatar Airways, the Official Global Airline Partner of FIFA. The initiative underscores FIFA’s focus on expanding accessibility and elevating the fan experience for the 2026 tournament, which will feature a record 48 teams — the largest lineup in the competition’s history.

Expanded Travel Network and Member Perks

American Airlines plans to promote additional fan-focused offers throughout the year leading up to the World Cup. These include new engagement opportunities, promotional packages, and exclusive events for AAdvantage members in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The airline will also align its centennial celebrations with FIFA-related campaigns to highlight its North American reach and loyalty program benefits.

With more than 6,500 peak daily flights to over 350 destinations worldwide, American Airlines serves all 16 FIFA World Cup 26™ host cities. The airline’s route network connects major destinations across North America, positioning it to handle a surge in demand from international fans traveling to the tournament. FIFA’s chosen host cities include locations such as Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Mexico City, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Members can continue earning AAdvantage miles and Loyalty Points by flying with American or through its network of travel and lifestyle partners. The airline is also offering members up to 40% savings on purchased miles, which can be applied toward flight bookings or FIFA World Cup ticket redemptions. Enrollment in the AAdvantage program remains free at aa.com/aadvantage.

Sweepstakes and Promotional Access

In addition to the early redemption program, American Airlines is running an ongoing sweepstakes that gives U.S. residents aged 18 and older a chance to win FIFA World Cup 26™ match tickets. Participants can enter once daily at aa.com/fwc26perks for a chance to win, including opportunities to attend final or semi-final matches.

American’s collaboration with FIFA builds on its broader global sports partnerships, which are designed to connect travelers with high-profile events through loyalty engagement. The airline’s alignment with FIFA also reflects a growing emphasis on experiential rewards that integrate travel, entertainment, and cultural moments.

The FIFA World Cup 26™ will be the first edition hosted across three nations, representing an unprecedented scale in both logistics and attendance. FIFA has projected that the expanded tournament will draw millions of spectators, with match attendance expected to exceed 5 million fans across all venues. The 48-team format is intended to increase representation and inclusivity, marking a new era for the global tournament.

American Airlines said it will continue to roll out additional details on travel packages, promotions, and loyalty redemption opportunities as the event approaches. For now, AAdvantage® members are being urged to mark their calendars for October 13, when the first phase of ticket redemption begins.

“Our goal is to connect people to the moments that matter most,” said Scott Long. “By partnering with FIFA, we’re giving our members a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the world’s biggest sporting event in a way only American can offer.”
