International Expansion: Atlanta to Honduras

Among the new routes, the launch of service to Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula (SAP) stands out as Frontier’s first connection to Honduras. The new international route offers travelers access to Central America at ultra-low fares, positioning Atlanta as a gateway to the region for both tourism and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) traffic.

Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design at Frontier Airlines, said, “We are thrilled to launch these additional six routes from ATL this week, including our first ever service to the beautiful country of Honduras – just the latest in our growth in Atlanta.”

Frontier’s Growth at Hartsfield-Jackson

Frontier’s departures from ATL are up 40% year-over-year this month, part of a larger effort by the carrier to expand its footprint in major U.S. hubs. The ultra-low fare airline is positioning itself as a flexible and affordable choice for both domestic and international travelers.

With these additions, Frontier serves 52 nonstop destinations from ATL, reflecting one of the most aggressive expansions by a budget carrier at the world’s busiest airport. The airline continues to target underserved markets and offer low-cost alternatives to traditional carriers.

More Comfort and Perks with ‘The New Frontier’

To complement the route expansion, Frontier has also introduced product and service enhancements under its “New Frontier” initiative:

  • UpFront Plus: Premium seating in the first two rows with extra leg and elbow room, a guaranteed empty middle seat, and window or aisle access.
  • Unlimited Companion Travel: Elite loyalty members can bring a different travel companion on every flight at no extra cost.
  • First Class Seating: Launching in late 2025, bringing enhanced comfort at competitive prices.

These improvements are designed to enhance the travel experience while maintaining Frontier’s core promise of affordability.

FRONTIER Miles: Loyalty Program for Budget Flyers

FRONTIER Miles, the airline’s frequent flyer program, continues to grow in popularity. Travelers earn miles based on dollars spent, with a base multiplier of 10X ($1 = 10 miles) and elite tiers offering up to 20X. Elite status starts at just 10,000 miles and includes perks such as:

  • Priority boarding
  • Free seat selection
  • Complimentary checked bags (depending on tier)
  • Family pooling for shared mileage redemption

Enrollment in FRONTIER Miles is free and open to all customers, making rewards more accessible to families and frequent travelers alike.

With six new routes and expanded offerings both onboard and on the ground, Frontier is continuing to redefine what budget travel looks like in 2025.
