Hilton Opens 9,000th Hotel in Texas

Hilton has opened its 9,000th hotel worldwide with the debut of Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa in Texas, marking a major milestone in the company’s global expansion strategy. The luxury property adds to Hilton’s rapidly growing portfolio as the company continues to accelerate development across key regions.

The new resort, located in the Texas Hill Country, introduces Hilton’s Signia brand to the state and underscores the company’s momentum following its 8,000th hotel opening just a year ago. Hilton currently averages nearly three new hotel openings per day, driven by strong owner demand and increased conversion activity.

Hilton announced that it now operates more than 1,000 luxury and lifestyle hotels globally, with over 200 such properties signed this year alone. The company also reported that it has reached 1,000 properties each across Asia Pacific and the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. In North America, Hilton has surpassed 6,000 hotels in the United States, 200 in Canada, and 500 in Florida, along with 100 in Italy and other key markets.

Christian Charnaux, executive vice president and chief development officer, Hilton, said the milestone reflects the company’s partnership with property owners. “Much like we make a promise to our guests to deliver reliable and friendly stays, we are committed to being owners’ partner of choice,” said Christian Charnaux, executive vice president and chief development officer, Hilton. “Reaching this milestone of 9,000 hotels is a powerful testament to that commitment. Our brands consistently deliver industry-leading performance for our owners, which enables us to deploy our brands – both existing and new – into markets around the world every day.”

New Signia by Hilton La Cantera

The Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa features 496 guest rooms, including 34 boutique-style villas and an exclusive adults-only floor. The property incorporates regionally inspired décor designed to reflect the Texas Hill Country, providing guests with a luxury experience alongside business and leisure amenities.

Hilton’s latest growth achievements also include plans to expand significantly in emerging markets. The company aims to grow its presence tenfold in India, triple its portfolio in Africa, quadruple its footprint in Saudi Arabia, and surpass 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels in the Asia Pacific region. These developments are supported by Hilton’s pipeline of more than 3,600 hotels currently under development.

With only 5% of the existing global room supply and 21% of all rooms under construction, Hilton sees strong potential for further expansion. The company continues to focus on developing luxury, lifestyle, and conversion projects that deliver commercial performance for property owners worldwide.
