Hyatt Expands in Mexico with Cancun Airport Hotel

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Parks Hospitality Holdings open Hyatt Place Cancun Airport, launching the first Hyatt Place property in Quintana Roo and expanding the brand’s presence in Mexico.

The newly built hotel begins operating on November 12, 2025, offering 156 rooms and a 24-hour shuttle next to Cancun International Airport. The opening marks the first project delivered under Hyatt’s multi-deal collaboration with Parks Hospitality Holdings.

The announcement confirms Hyatt’s continued investment in key Mexican markets and its strategy to expand select-service offerings in major leisure and business destinations. According to the company, upcoming openings include Hyatt Place Merida/Via Montejo later this month and Hyatt Place Piedras Negras in early 2026.

New Airport Hotel With Leisure and Business Access

Hyatt Place Cancun Airport is located adjacent to Cancun International Airport with direct access to on-site parking and a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle. The hotel sits minutes from the Cancun Airport Tren Maya station, business complexes, and nearby attractions including Go Grand Outlet Riviera Maya, Xoximilco Cancun, and El Tinto Golf Course. Beaches and downtown Cancun are approximately 15 minutes away.

Public areas feature high ceilings, flexible workspaces, and communal seating designed for coworking and informal meetings. Amenities include a 24-hour fitness center equipped with free weights and cardio machines, and a nearly 50-foot outdoor swimming pool with a deck for rest and relaxation.

Hyatt’s Growth Strategy and Facilities

General Manager Andrea Medina said the new hotel offers “an ideal stay for both business and leisure travelers seeking a seamless and stress-free experience just minutes from the airport.” Medina added that the team looks forward to providing “a welcoming space to relax, work and explore Cancun with ease.”

The property offers free Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace in every room, and the Hyatt Place brand’s Cozy Corner sofa. The design features local materials such as Yucatán Macedonia stone and Santo Tomás stone, with a palette inspired by the region’s tropical landscape. Guests also have access to the Necessities program, which provides everyday items available to buy, borrow, or enjoy at no additional cost.

Food and beverage options include free breakfast at the Breakfast Bar, 24/7 access to The Market’s packaged items, and The Placery lobby bar with dishes such as burgers, salads, sandwiches, and the regional specialty “Sopa de Lima.” The hotel also offers nearly 1,500 square feet of flexible event space with natural light and an additional outdoor deck for celebrations.

Parks Hospitality Holdings CEO Charles El Mann Fasja stated that the opening reflects the company’s commitment to delivering hospitality experiences that meet global standards. He said the project demonstrates PHH’s aim to create places where travelers “seamlessly connect, relax, and experience the energy and culture of Mexico.”

The Hyatt Place Cancun Airport debut is the first hotel completed under Hyatt’s broader development plan with PHH, which also includes Park Hyatt Cancun (2026), Grand Hyatt Los Cabos (2027), and Grand Hyatt Mexico City Santa Fe (2028). The formal ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for November 26, 2025.

Hyatt also announced a World of Hyatt offer granting members 500 Bonus Points for qualifying nights at Hyatt Place Cancun Airport from November 12, 2025 through February 28, 2026. The promotion is part of the brand’s new hotel bonus program and requires no registration.
