IHG Signs voco and Hotel Indigo Dual-Branded Hotel in London Waterloo

IHG signs voco and Hotel Indigo dual-branded hotel in London Waterloo, bringing two of its fastest-growing and most distinctive brands under one roof in one of the city’s most dynamic districts. This landmark development—scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2028—is being delivered in partnership with Palm Holdings and marks a bold step in IHG Hotels & Resorts’ expansion strategy in the UK capital.

Set in London’s vibrant Waterloo neighborhood, just minutes from the city’s most iconic landmarks, the project will include the 182-room voco London – Waterloo and the 172-room Hotel Indigo & Suites London – Waterloo. Both hotels will offer distinctive hospitality experiences while sharing premium amenities tailored to both leisure and business travelers.

Dual Brands, One Destination

voco Hotels, IHG’s upscale premium brand known for its relaxed style and consistency, will bring its signature charm and intuitive service to the 182-room voco London – Waterloo. This hotel will focus on thoughtful comfort, individuality, and sustainability—values that align well with voco’s global identity.

Hotel Indigo & Suites, on the other hand, marks its European debut with this project. The 172-room property will blend boutique design with storytelling that reflects the character of the local Waterloo neighborhood. Inspired by the area’s cultural history, Hotel Indigo & Suites London – Waterloo promises guests a more personalized and immersive stay that connects them to the spirit of the community.

Both properties will operate side by side yet maintain their own brand identities. Shared guest amenities will include restaurants, cafés, lounges, a modern gym, and a fully equipped business center—all designed to complement the lifestyles of today’s diverse global travelers.

Unbeatable Location in London’s Cultural Hub

Waterloo is one of London’s most connected neighborhoods and a cultural hotspot. Guests at either hotel will find themselves steps away from iconic attractions such as the London Eye, Southbank Centre, National Theatre, London Aquarium, and Royal Festival Hall. The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben lie just across the Thames, while the Imperial War Museum is directly adjacent to the development site.

With Waterloo Station only a short walk away, guests will benefit from excellent connectivity across London and beyond. Regular services from the station offer seamless access to key destinations across the UK, adding further appeal to business and leisure travelers alike.

A Shared Vision for Growth and Sustainability

(Mrs) Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development for Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the importance of the project: “Our dual-branded property, voco London – Waterloo and Hotel Indigo & Suites London – Waterloo, will mark a significant milestone in IHG’s growth across the UK and Ireland. It unites two of our celebrated brands and introduces an exciting new offering to Europe with Hotel Indigo & Suites.”

IHG currently operates 363 hotels across the UK and Ireland with an additional 33 in the pipeline. This dual-branded property further supports the company’s commitment to increasing its presence in top-tier urban markets.

Sustainable Design and World-Class Development Team

Sustainability is central to the project’s construction and operation. The development targets BREEAM Excellent certification, an ambitious environmental standard in the UK. Features will include air source heat pumps and solar panels, ensuring the property operates without fossil fuels and is powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

To deliver this high-performance building, Palm Holdings has assembled a world-class design and consultancy team:
