IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global hotel industry frontrunner, unveiled its latest Holiday Inn property in South Philadelphia.
Following an extensive renovation, the hotel is situated strategically near the Philadelphia International Airport and is just a stroll away from the city’s major sports and entertainment complex, encompassing Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, and the Wells Fargo Center.
A standout amidst the South Philadelphia skyline, the Holiday Inn Philadelphia Airport – Stadium Area is housed in a circular, towering edifice. The hotel boasts 206 well-appointed guest rooms furnished with plush bedding, state-of-the-art amenities, and free Wi-Fi. It further offers a contemporary business center and over 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. For those seeking culinary delights, The Whit Restaurant and Lounge at the hotel promises classic American cuisine.
Kevin Schramm, SVP of Development, Mainstream, at IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed his enthusiasm, “Philadelphia, with its rich historical backdrop, offers an apt setting for the iconic Holiday Inn brand. Its prime location, close to key landmarks, makes it a top choice for those keen to delve into the city.”
The transformation and subsequent launch of Holiday Inn Philadelphia Airport – Stadium Area were achieved in collaboration with Watermark Hospitality Group. This New Jersey-based, family-run hotel conglomerate oversees 15 hotels across the mid-Atlantic and northeast U.S., with the Philadelphia establishment being their maiden IHG-branded venture.
Watermark Hospitality Group conveyed its excitement about the partnership, emphasizing Holiday Inn’s legendary status in setting hospitality benchmarks. They voiced their eagerness to cater to Philadelphia’s ever-growing populace of business tycoons, history aficionados, and culture enthusiasts.
The hotel augments IHG’s burgeoning Americas catalog, which includes nearly 800 operational or under-development establishments. It joins four other IHG-branded facilities in Philadelphia and adds to the brand’s recent inaugurations near Canada’s Vancouver Island and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
