Hyatt Hotels Corporation and RLH Properties announce the opening of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, marking the debut of the Park Hyatt brand in Mexico.
The 163-room resort opens in December 2025 within the private Cabo del Sol community in Baja California Sur, expanding Hyatt’s luxury portfolio in one of Mexico’s most established beach destinations. The property is positioned along a stretch of coastline overlooking the Sea of Cortéz and targets high-end leisure demand in Los Cabos.
The new resort is developed by RLH Properties and joins Hyatt’s global Park Hyatt collection, which focuses on luxury hospitality rooted in design and destination. Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol includes 163 guestrooms, 88 suites, and three private villas, alongside branded residential units offered for purchase. The opening aligns with Hyatt’s broader expansion of its luxury brands across Mexico.
First Park Hyatt property launches in Los Cabos
Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol becomes the first Park Hyatt hotel to open in Mexico, introducing the brand’s contemporary luxury positioning to the Los Cabos market. The resort sits within Cabo del Sol, a master-planned coastal community known for its beaches, golf course, and proximity to Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Hyatt describes the opening as a milestone for its luxury growth strategy in the country.
The resort was designed by Mexican architecture and interior design firms Sordo Madaleno and Paulina Morán, working alongside George Wong Design and Yabu Pushelburg. The architectural concept emphasizes a strong connection to the surrounding desert and ocean landscape, with the layout oriented toward uninterrupted sea views. Natural materials, open terraces, and indoor-outdoor transitions shape the guest experience throughout the property.
“Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is inspired by the natural duality that defines Los Cabos: land and sea, openness and refuge, light and shadow – a sanctuary that provides a home away from home where warmth, serenity, and the spirit of Baja come together in perfect harmony,” said Sordo Madaleno, Lead Architect.
The accommodation mix includes guestrooms and suites ranging from 452 to 1,254 square feet, each offering ocean or resort views. Select units feature private plunge pools, while the three villas provide ocean-view settings designed for extended stays and multi-generational travel. Two-bedroom villas offer 1,995 square feet of interior space, while the three-bedroom Presidential Villa spans 3,202 square feet indoors and includes a private lap pool.
In addition to hotel accommodation, the development includes 11 private villas and eight apartments available for purchase. These branded residences range from four to six bedrooms and are delivered fully furnished, with design elements that incorporate locally sourced materials and biophilic principles. Hyatt positions the residential component as an extension of the Park Hyatt lifestyle offering.
Dining, wellness, and events offerings
Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol opens with multiple dining venues, including Costamar Beach Club, Mesa Madre, and Dátil Coffee Shop. Costamar operates as a beach club serving coastal cuisine and cocktails, while Mesa Madre focuses on Mexican comfort cooking inspired by family-style dining. Dátil Coffee Shop offers artisanal coffee sourced from Mexican regions such as Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Veracruz.
A signature restaurant, Silán, is scheduled to open in spring 2026 and will introduce Levantine cuisine influenced by North African and Middle Eastern flavors. The restaurant will feature a wine cellar with Old World labels and a dedicated cocktail program. Hyatt says the culinary offering is designed to reflect both local tradition and international influences.
Wellness facilities include a 59,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center, one of the largest in the Los Cabos region. The resort features a yoga studio, a beachside lap pool, and a 24-hour fitness facility. Araya Spa is expected to open in the first quarter of 2026, offering a range of treatments inspired by Baja California Sur’s natural environment.
“Being a part of the opening of the first Park Hyatt property in Mexico here in Cabo del Sol is an honorable moment for our team,” said Adam Zilber, General Manager, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol. He said the resort aims to deliver experiences shaped by local architecture, cuisine, and collaboration with Mexican artisans.
Meeting and event facilities total 34,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including a ballroom, meeting rooms, and oceanfront lawns. The resort also offers access to the Tom Weiskopf–designed Cabo del Sol Golf Course and nearby Ánima Village, a retail and lifestyle destination within the community.
RLH Properties positions the project as part of its long-term strategy in Los Cabos. “The debut of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is a keystone moment in RLH Properties’ disciplined strategy to redefine ultra-luxury hospitality in Mexico,” said Luis Duran, CEO of RLH Properties. Hyatt confirms that additional Park Hyatt properties are planned in Mexico City and Cancun, both expected to open in 2026.
