easyJet launches three new UK routes to Rome Fiumicino, Lisbon and Bari, expanding services from a new base in Newcastle and adding a fresh Italian connection from Manchester.
The airline confirms that Newcastle–Rome begins on 30 March 2026, Newcastle–Lisbon launches on 22 June 2026, and Manchester–Bari starts on 3 July 2026, with all routes operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Introductory fares start from £33.99 for Rome, £43.99 for Lisbon and £38.99 for Bari.
easyJet holidays also introduces package holidays to all three destinations, bundling flights and hotel, with 23kg luggage and transfers included on Bari beach breaks. Travellers can choose from hundreds of hotels and secure trips with a low deposit of £60 per person. All routes and packages are now on sale via the airline’s website and mobile app.
New routes target city breaks and seaside escapes
The new services reflect easyJet’s growing footprint in northern England, with Newcastle positioned as a new base for the carrier. The Rome launch in late March 2026 is timed to capture demand around the Easter holidays, giving families and leisure travellers an early-season option for a cultural getaway.
Flights to Lisbon follow in late June 2026, aligning with the peak summer travel window and making it easier for UK travellers to plan long weekend breaks or short city escapes. Both Newcastle routes operate on Mondays and Fridays, a schedule designed to appeal to travellers looking to maximise time away without using too much annual leave.
From Manchester, the new route to Bari adds a southern Italian destination that combines historic old towns, Adriatic beaches and a slower pace than Italy’s larger cities. Departures also run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, making it suitable for both extended weekends and week-long holidays.
Kevin Doyle welcomed the expansion, highlighting the mix of city culture and beach appeal. “We’re excited to be launching new routes and packages from Manchester and Newcastle to three of Europe’s popular destinations, providing customers with even more choice and connectivity, whether they’re looking for a cultural city getaway or relaxing beach break. In our 30th year, we are set to operate our biggest ever flying programme this summer, offering more than 50 million seats to and from the UK, and remain committed as we ever have been to making travel easy,” said Kevin Doyle, UK Country Manager.
The pricing strategy underlines easyJet’s low-cost positioning, with entry-level fares starting below £50 across all three routes. Newcastle–Rome launches with fares from £33.99, Newcastle–Lisbon from £43.99, and Manchester–Bari from £38.99. While headline prices are limited in availability, they are designed to stimulate early bookings and give travellers an affordable entry point into popular European destinations.
easyJet holidays strengthens the appeal for families and first-time travellers by simplifying the booking process. Package holidays combine flights and hotel, while Bari beach breaks also include transfers and a 23kg luggage allowance, reducing the need for multiple add-ons. The £60 per person deposit option makes it easier for travellers to lock in summer travel plans ahead of payday or seasonal sales.
