LOT Polish Airlines launches Bologna to Warsaw route with six weekly flights

One day after the announcement of direct flights between Rome and Krakow, today LOT Polish Airlines announced another flight to another Italian city; Bologna.

In fact, LOT Polish Airlines yesterday has launched a new route connecting Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport with its global hub in Warsaw, introducing six weekly flights operating year round. The service also began on 31 March and marks the airline’s first direct connection from Bologna, expanding travel options for passengers across Italy.

The new Bologna to Warsaw route operates six times a week with morning and evening departures, offering flexible schedules and seamless onward connections to destinations across Europe, Asia and North America. Flights are operated using Boeing 737 MAX8 and Embraer aircraft, with both Business Class and Economy Class available onboard.

Under the new schedule, flights depart Bologna on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:45, arriving in Warsaw at 13:55 local time. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, departures take place at 18:25, landing in the Polish capital at 20:35.

The route provides direct access to Warsaw, Poland’s economic hub and a growing city break destination known for its dynamic cultural scene. Passengers can also connect via Warsaw to LOT Polish Airlines’ global network, which includes destinations across Poland, Europe, Central and South Asia, the Far East and North America.

Examples of onward connections from Bologna via Warsaw include:

  • Chicago: arrival at 19:50 local time after 15:05 total travel time
  • Delhi: arrival at 02:55 the following day after 11:40 total travel time
  • Krakow: arrival at 16:20 after 4:35 total travel time
  • New York JFK: arrival at 20:20 after 14:35 total travel time
  • Stockholm: arrival at 18:40 after 6:55 total travel time
  • Tallinn: arrival at 17:45 after 5:00 total travel time
  • Tokyo: arrival at 18:30 the following day after 17:05 total travel time

With the addition of Bologna, LOT Polish Airlines continues to expand its presence in Italy, where it already serves Rome, Milan and Venice. The new route makes Bologna the fourth Italian airport in the airline’s network.

“Italy and LOT Polish Airlines are a perfect match”, said Amit Ray, Director for Italy, DACH markets, Malta and India and Head of Global Corporate and Strategic Sales at LOT Polish Airlines. “We have recorded steady growth in Italy and have been able to gradually expand our presence in line with strong demand. We are delighted to add Bologna to our global route network, offering customers greater choice. Bologna is also an excellent inbound destination from many international markets”.

“The launch of the new Bologna-Warsaw flight with LOT Polish Airlines is particularly important for our region and catchment area, not only because it strengthens connections between our region and the capital of Poland, but also because it allows our passengers to access the full network of the Polish national carrier, with over 120 destinations in Europe, Asia and North America”, said Nazareno Ventola, CEO of Bologna Airport.

“LOT is in fact a new airline for Bologna Airport, adding to the already extensive portfolio of carriers operating at Marconi Airport. The new flight will also help further boost inbound traffic to our region from a particularly dynamic and fast-growing area of Europe that has historically strong ties with Bologna and the wider region”.
