PATA Honours Tourism Members With 70 Years of Partnership

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has honoured tourism organisations that have supported the association for more than 50, 60 and 70 years during the PATA Annual Summit 2026 in Pohang, South Korea.

The recognition took place during the PATA Executive Board & Board Member and PATA Awards Presentation Dinner on May 11 as the association celebrated its 75th anniversary. Tourism boards, airlines, travel companies and government agencies from across the Asia Pacific region received awards for decades of membership.

PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid said the association’s long-standing members had played a key role in its development over the past seven decades.

“As we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Pacific Asia Travel Association, we are honoured to recognise our long-standing members whose continued support, trust, and collective voice have been instrumental in the growth, strength, and relevance of the Association. Their commitment continues to shape a more responsible and sustainable future for tourism across the Asia Pacific region,” said Noor Ahmad Hamid.

Organisations recognised for more than 70 years of membership included Guam Visitors Bureau, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Philippine Department of Tourism and Japan’s Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd.

PATA said several other organisations with more than 70 years of membership were unable to attend the event, including Destination NSW, Marianas Visitors Authority, Tahiti Tourisme and Tourism Fiji.
