Google to use Zaplox Web App for employee accommodations in a move that signals growing momentum behind seamless, app-free hotel guest experiences. Zaplox, a provider of digital guest journey solutions for the hotel industry, has signed its first agreement for the newly launched Zaplox Web App with Google. The agreement centers on short-term stays for Google employees, marking a major milestone in Zaplox’s product rollout.
The Zaplox Web App enables guests to check in and out, make payments, and receive mobile keys through their smartphone browser—all without the need to download a separate app. Keys are delivered directly into digital wallets, making the process quicker, more intuitive, and compatible with modern hotel operations. This browser-based tool is designed specifically for properties with wallet-compatible locks and can be fully branded to match a hotel’s visual identity.
Zaplox-Google Partnership: A Natural Evolution
This partnership is not entirely new. Zaplox and Google have collaborated since 2022, primarily around integrating mobile keys into Google Wallet. The new agreement represents the next phase in their relationship, with Google now formally becoming the first customer to implement the Web App across its short-term accommodation program for employees.
Tess Mattisson, President and CEO of Zaplox, emphasized the significance of the deal. “Zaplox has had the privilege of partnering with Google since 2022, including on mobile keys in Google Wallet. We are, of course, very proud that Google is now our first customer to offer our Zaplox Web App to their guests. This not only confirms that we continue to be at the forefront of technology, but also that our existing customers have growing confidence in us,” she said.
A Strategic Milestone for Zaplox
The new agreement validates Zaplox’s development strategy, which focuses on designing products that directly address hotel customer needs while driving tangible business results. The ability to secure a high-profile client so soon after launching a new product underlines the market demand for frictionless, user-friendly hospitality technology.
The Zaplox Web App stands apart in the hospitality tech space by offering:
- App-free access to digital check-in/check-out
- Mobile key delivery via digital wallets
- Seamless payment processing
- Hotel-branded design customization
These features not only enhance the guest experience but also simplify backend operations for hotel staff, reducing the need for printed key cards and front desk check-in congestion.
The Broader Industry Impact
The collaboration comes at a time when the hotel industry is rapidly adopting contactless and digital solutions in response to shifting traveler expectations. Guests today demand speed, ease, and minimal friction—preferences that align with the streamlined model enabled by Zaplox technology.
Zaplox’s Web App could potentially become the standard digital guest journey solution for hotels aiming to modernize without requiring their customers to download yet another app. With Google as an anchor client, the door is open for more global hospitality brands to explore partnerships with Zaplox, particularly those that value integration with digital wallets and contactless interactions.
Tess Mattisson added, “As a growth company, being able to secure agreements for new products so soon after launch is an important confirmation that our development strategy—focused on customer needs—is the right one, and that we are investing in products and services that have a direct impact on our revenue.”
Looking ahead, Zaplox is expected to pursue additional partnerships, building on its proven record of digital innovation and its ability to deliver seamless, intuitive guest experiences at scale.
