Malaysia Airlines the first in the world to partner with four tech giants in landmark collaboration

The parent company of Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has become the first airline group in the world to partner with four of the most influential names in e-commerce and technology: Adobe, Skyscanner, Google, and Visa.

By partnering with these global technology leaders, Malaysia Airlines is setting the stage for a future where a flight is not merely booked, but experienced from the very first moment of planning, one that is personalised, intelligent, seamless, and rewarding across the airline’s website and mobile platforms.

By uniting the best-in-class expertise in metasearch, personalisation, digital engagement and payments, the collaboration is set to redefine how travellers discover, engage with and book their journeys — delivering a seamless, data-driven and customer-centric travel experience.

Roles of Adobe, Google, Skyscanner and Visa

Each of the technology giants has specific roles to play.

For Adobe, it is to ensure personalised digital experiences across customer segments, making every interaction memorable, be it for families, business travellers, or first-time flyers.

Google is focused on AI such as its latest AI innovations – generative AI chatbot Gemini and video generation model Veo3 – which will transform travel discovery and search, creating seamless, conversational, and intuitive journeys that inspire and convert.

Malaysia Airlines and Google are building on their strategic partnership which started in 2024, and another collaboration was announced in March this year. Using Veo3, passengers can upload a photo and watch it transform into a dynamic video, ready to be shared across social platforms.

As a global leader in metasearch, Skyscanner will underscore the platform’s ability to amplify Malaysia Airlines’ visibility across the digital travel ecosystem, ensuring the airline’s offerings meet customers wherever they search.

Visa will work with Malaysia Airlines to reinvent checkout and payments, with secure and innovative transaction experiences, enabling speed, trust, and simplicity in every booking.

In August this year, Malaysia Airlines signed a partnership with travel technology provider Amadeus, which sees the carrier deploy Amadeus Travel Ready.  Malaysia Airlines is the first airline  in Southeast Asia to deploy Amadeus Travel Ready.

The solution digitalises and verifies travel documents – such as passports, visas and health documents – at every stage of the journey, boosting efficiency and reducing congestion at airports, and enables a more seamless flow through each stage of the journey. It also allows customers to use Facebook Messenger to book and pay for flights and create a digital travel buddy.

Using Dialogflow on Google Cloud, Malaysia Airlines and Amadeus created a chatbot that enables customers to search, book, and pay for flights, positioning the carrier to meet future demand and grow revenues from digital channels.
