PPDS and DAZN Bring Sports Streaming Directly to Hotel TVs

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays and complementary solutions, announce a new partnership with DAZN – the world’s leading sports entertainment platform and Europe’s largest football broadcaster – to bring its live and on-demand content streaming services into hotel guest rooms for the first time, exclusively via Philips MediaSuite hospitality TVs.

This partnership will make Philips MediaSuite the first dedicated hospitality TV to feature the DAZN app, which is used by over 300 million people monthly and offers access to more than 30,000 live sports and entertainment events.

To be unveiled at ISE 2024 in Barcelona (30 Jan. – 2 Feb.), this collaboration aligns with PPDS’ mission to offer the most comprehensive and flexible in-room TV entertainment services in the hospitality industry. Guests can now enjoy a personalized viewing experience with top-tier sports and entertainment right in their hotel rooms.

Launched in 2016 and headquartered in London, DAZN offers a wide array of live sports, including major football leagues, boxing, MMA, motorsport, and tennis. With a subscriber base of over 60 million and a strong presence in over 200 countries, DAZN has become a dominant force in sports entertainment.

This exclusive integration of the DAZN app onto Philips MediaSuite TVs, a preferred choice for global hotel brands like Accor, IHG, Marriott, and Radisson, represents a significant advancement in hotel entertainment offerings. Guests can now watch major sporting events, such as boxing matches featuring stars like Anthony Joshua or Katie Taylor, directly on their in-room TVs. The partnership offers two initial subscription packages: DAZN Base, covering worldwide sports rights, and DAZN Ultimate, for additional content in core territories.

Jeroen Verhaeghe, Global Business Development Director Hospitality at PPDS, emphasized the evolution of in-room TV experiences, highlighting the adaptability of Philips MediaSuite TVs to market trends and guest preferences. The partnership with DAZN, alongside previous collaborations with Netflix and Apple TV+, showcases PPDS’ commitment to enriching the guest experience with popular streaming services.

Rachelle Peterson, SVP of Global Commercial Distribution at DAZN, expressed excitement about extending DAZN’s reach to hotel guests, enhancing the quality and accessibility of their content. The DAZN app on Philips MediaSuite TVs promises high-quality sports viewing in up to 4K resolution, complemented by superior sound, marking an end to the days of watching sports on small mobile devices in hotel rooms.
