German travellers are booking holidays earlier than ever, with some securing trips up to a year in advance as demand for package holidays continues to grow.
Tour operator alltours says rising living costs are making travellers more price conscious, encouraging them to lock in early booking discounts and secure predictable travel costs.
The company reports strong demand across both luxury travel and budget-friendly holidays, with package trips becoming increasingly popular. Spain, Turkey and Greece are expected to be the most booked destinations for summer 2026.
According to alltours, many travellers began booking summer 2026 holidays as early as September 2025, when the booking season opened. Early reservations often come with higher discounts, while flights are typically cheaper at the start of the booking period before demand increases.
“In der wichtigsten Zeit im Jahr wünscht man sich maximalen Komfort ohne Risiko und das so günstig wie möglich. Die Pauschalreise ist hierfür die beste Wahl. Sie ist immer preisgünstiger als eine individual zusammengestellt Reise und bietet umfassenden Service sowie eine verlässliche Absicherung bei unerwarteten Ereignissen während der Reise,” said Willi Verhuven, Gründer und Inhaber der Unternehmensgruppe alltours.
The trend reflects growing interest in holidays that offer cost certainty, particularly all inclusive packages where meals, drinks and activities are included in the price. alltours says it has expanded its range of all inclusive hotels for summer 2026 across its key destinations.
Family travel remains a major focus for the operator. For the upcoming summer season, alltours has expanded its affordable family holiday packages and extended child discounts beyond the usual industry standard. Children up to age 14 can stay free in 50% of hotels in the company’s programme, while teenagers up to 17 receive significant youth discounts.
Mediterranean destinations continue to dominate bookings. Spain, Turkey and Greece are currently the most popular destinations for summer 2026, while Egypt, Tunisia and Bulgaria are emerging as attractive lower-cost alternatives for travellers looking for better value.
In winter, the most booked destinations include the Canary Islands, Egypt, Mallorca and Turkey. Long-haul travel is also growing in popularity, with strong demand for the Maldives, Thailand, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
alltours also reports renewed interest in holidays that travellers can reach by car or train. Coastal destinations along Poland’s Baltic Sea are gaining attention, while Sardinia and Corsica are popular choices for family-friendly resorts.
City breaks continue to grow steadily as well. Alongside major destinations such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris and Prague, the company’s programme now includes smaller cities such as Bingen am Rhein, Nürnberg, Leipzig, Gdansk and Nice.
To support rising demand, alltours is expanding its exclusive hotel portfolio. For summer 2026, the company will open five new allsun Hotels & Resorts in Greece, including properties on Rhodes and Crete. One of them, the Carolina Sun Beach on Crete, marks the first five-star hotel under the allsun brand.
The operator is also expanding its alltoura Club Hotels brand with eight additional properties in Greece, Turkey, Tunisia and Bulgaria. The new openings include resorts on the Turkish Riviera and the Aegean coast, as well as new hotels on Rhodes, Kos, Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast and in Tunisia.
With these additions, alltoura Club Hotels will grow to a total of 14 properties. alltours has also launched its first dedicated catalogue showcasing allsun Hotels & Resorts and alltoura Club Hotels, highlighting exclusive properties that travellers can book only through the company.
