ITA Airways is expanding its summer 2026 schedule with three new leisure routes from Rome Fiumicino and increased frequencies on existing Mediterranean connections. The Italian carrier will operate the new services between July and September 2026.
The airline is launching flights from Rome Fiumicino to Mykonos, starting July 25, and to Alicante, starting July 18, both with two weekly frequencies. A daily service to Trapani launches on July 1, further strengthening ITA Airways’ Mediterranean network.
The expansion also includes additional frequencies on existing routes from Rome Fiumicino to Brindisi, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Palma de Mallorca and Nice, aimed at boosting capacity during peak travel periods and offering greater flexibility for passengers.
The new routes form part of a broader summer schedule build-up. From June 1, ITA Airways is also operating seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino to Malaga, Valencia and Marseille, already on sale and running through to September 30, 2026.
“The consolidation of our summer offering to some of the most sought-after Mediterranean destinations reflects ITA Airways’ commitment to ensuring targeted growth capable of keeping pace with demand during periods of peak tourist flows,” said Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial, Network and Incentive Management Officer of ITA Airways. “In a complex and constantly evolving geopolitical context, we continue to grow responsibly, strengthening our presence where demand is most dynamic. The leisure segment, in which we continue to invest, plays a key role in enhancing the attractiveness of destinations while also supporting the overall strength of our network.”
ITA Airways is 59% owned by Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and 41% by Deutsche Lufthansa AG. The carrier is a member of Star Alliance and positions itself as Italy’s national reference carrier, operating both passenger and cargo services across domestic and international routes.
Tickets for the new flights are available on the ITA Airways website, its app and through official sales channels.
