The not-for profit association PATA; responsible for the development of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region announced forecast for 2015 total inbound volume for the region. According to Volume I of the annual PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecasts 2015-19, Asia Pacific destinations stand to welcome 33 million more foreign arrivals in 2015 over those of 2014, lifting the expected total inbound volume to around 547 million by the end of the year.
Viking Ocean Cruises announced its first ship, Viking Star, has embarked on her maiden voyage from Istanbul to Venice, thus launching the travel industry’s first entirely new cruise line in a decade. Marriott International announced plans to open the first Courtyard by Marriott brand hotel in Curaçao in the city of Willemstad. Curaçao is an island in the southern Caribbean Sea, north of the Venezuelan coast. The 177-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel, scheduled to open in 2017, will be located only a few blocks from the existing cruise ship terminal. The property will be part of a mixed-used development that will include retail space, an entertainment area, three restaurants and a casino.

As of 1st December 2015, Emirates launches a daily A380 service to Danish capital; Copenhagen.
