Three years and two months after breaking ground for the satellite terminal, Munich Airport has now announced the time frame for the opening of the new facility. The new facility will have 27 adjacent aircraft park positions, allowing passengers to board flights directly and with no bus transfer. It will increase Munich Airport's passenger handling capacity by 11 million passengers per year.

Germany’s Federal Statistical Office announced that almost 20 million overnight stays were generated in Germany by international visitors between January and April 2015. It also includes accommodation providers with 10 or more beds as well as camp grounds. It is 800,000 more overnights than in the same period the year prior – a total increase of 4.2 percent.

Disney officials have announced that beginning on Tuesday using selfie sticks are banned at theme parks in Florida and California. The popular tool used by tourists will no longer be welcome at Disney’s four Orlando theme parks and the Disneyland resort in California on Tuesday. Thirty seven people were killed and thirty six were wounded in a terrorist attack, Friday, on the Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Sousse, Tunisia. It is so unfortunate that I recently visited Sousse and stayed at the next beachfront hotel on the same beach where today’s attack took place.
Eighteen tourists were wounded in Turkey’s Cappadocia region, after a hot air balloon crashed into an electricity wire and its engine burst into flames. District medical director Dr. Rahim Unlubay says that none of the tourists is in a critical situation. Nine have already been released from the hospital and he expects the rest to be released soon.
Australia's island state of Tasmania set record number of tourists. The number of visitors to Tasmania topped 1.1 million for the first time. According to the latest Tasmanian Visitor Survey, a record 1.103 million travelers visited the island in the 12 months to March, a four per cent increase on the previous year.
