disney-bans-selfie-sticks-at-theme-parks Disney officials have announced that beginning on Tuesday using selfie sticks are banned at theme parks in Florida and California. The popular tool used by tourists will no longer be welcome at Disney’s four Orlando theme parks and the Disneyland resort in California on Tuesday. The ban begins on 1 July at Disney parks in Paris and Hong Kong.

unwto-and-wttc-condemn-terrorist-attacks World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) issued two separate statements that condemn terrorist attack in Tunisia. “Today our societies were attacked in three different continents showing that we face a truly global threat” said UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai. David Scowsill, President & CEO, WTTC, said, “I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of all the victims of this brutal attack. Our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.”

at-least-27-dead-in-terror-attack-on-sousse-beach-tunisia Thirty seven people were killed and thirty six were wounded in a terrorist attack, Friday, on the Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Sousse, Tunisia. It is so unfortunate that I recently visited Sousse and stayed at the next beachfront hotel on the same beach where today’s attack took place.

hot-air-balloon-crashed-in-cappadocia-turkeyEighteen tourists were wounded in Turkey’s Cappadocia region, after a hot air balloon crashed into an electricity wire and its engine burst into flames. District medical director Dr. Rahim Unlubay says that none of the tourists is in a critical situation. Nine have already been released from the hospital and he expects the rest to be released soon.

According to the latest Tasmanian Visitor Survey, a record 1.103 million travelers visited the island in the 12 months to March, a four per cent increase on the previous year.
