Air France started non-stop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Vancouver International Airport. Air France will operate five weekly flights by Boeing 777-200 equipped with 309 seats – 35 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 250 in Economy. Etihad Airways launched a new daily service between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi by its codeshare partner, South African Airways (SAA). In order to meet the increasing passenger demand on the Doha (Qatar) - Bengaluru (India) (formerly known as Bangalore) route, Qatar Airways is increasing its capacity on the route from August 1, 2015. Currently Qatar Airways operates a Boeing 787 on the Doha–Bengaluru route with 254 seats. Starting August 1, the Boeing 787 will be replaced by a Boeing 777, with a capacity of 335 seats.
As part of the government’s Northern Futures initiative, VisitEngland will receive £10 million of new funding to grow the number of international visitors travelling to the north of England. James Berresford, Chief Executive of VisitEngland said: “Lack of awareness of the North of England and its tourism offering is at the root cause of current low levels of export earnings from international tourism. The product itself is of international standard, but without a coordinated and concerted effort to communicate the offer, it is unlikely that growth opportunities will be realized.”

Airports Council International announced preliminary passenger traffic results for 2014 which show that the top four ranked positions with respect to the world's busiest airports in overall passenger traffic have not changed as compared to 2013.
