qantas-goes-double-daily-to-japanQantas launched its double daily services between Australia and Tokyo, Japan this weekend. Qantas flight QF25 departed from Sydney to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, followed by the departure of QF61 from Brisbane to Narita Airport. iberia-plans-to-open-new-routes-to-asia-africa-and-the-americasIberia is making plans to open new routes to Asia, Africa and the Americas in the next two years. Destinations now under study include Tokyo, Doha, Johannesburg, Toronto, Guadalajara, Managua, San Juan de Puerto Rico, Brasilia, and Asunción. Negotiations will be followed profitability studies before final decisions are made. At the same time, and subject to final contractual negotiations, IAG plans to convert in firm orders up to five A330-200 and eight A350-900 options to expand and renew Iberia long haul fleet.

tav-increased-revenue-by-17 TAV increased its revenue by 17% to EUR 508 million in the first half of 2015. Consolidated net profit of TAV Airports increased 4% and reached EUR 88 million. The number of passengers at the airports operated by TAV reached 48 million with an increase of 8% compared to the previous year.

valencia-city-tourism-on-track-with-best-ever-half-year-results Over 1.9 million overnight stays between January and June – an increase of 3% compared to 2014, due to the 8% upturn in domestic tourism and the high performance of international markets. Valencia registered the best first half-year in its history in tourism. This is clear from the figures in the survey by Valencia Tourism Foundation, contrasted with data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), which place overnight stays between January and June at 1,915,240, an increase of 3%.

germany-s-incoming-tourism-grows-by-more-than-one-million-overnights Between January and May, 2015 an additional 1.1 million overnights were generated by international visitors to Germany, compared with the same period last year. This is according to the latest numbers from the Federal Statistical Office based on statistics from accommodation facilities with ten or more beds as well as camping grounds. Overall, 27.1 million international overnights were registered, an increase of 4.1 percent.

two-injured-after-fire-at-cosmopolitan-hotel-on-las-vegas-strip A fire on the pool deck of Cosmopolitan, a luxury hotel and casino in Las Vegas, in the US state of Nevada, injured two people on Saturday, the local fire department deputy chief said. One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and another was treated by medical personnel at the scene and released, Clark County Fire Department spokesman Greg Cassell said at a press conference shortly after the fire was put out.
