JetBlue expands Fort Lauderdale flights and Mint service with a major growth announcement that reinforces the airline’s commitment to South Florida. The airline unveiled a wave of new routes, increased flight frequencies, and an expansion of its premium Mint class—all scheduled to begin in late 2025.
This strategic expansion not only enhances domestic connectivity but also strengthens Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) as a critical hub for travel across the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. JetBlue’s investment arrives ahead of the winter travel season, with premium services and broader access to popular destinations.
New Routes and Returning Destinations at FLL
JetBlue’s upcoming schedule will introduce new nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Norfolk, Tampa, Atlanta, and Austin. These routes respond to strong customer demand and aim to provide more flexibility for both South Florida residents and inbound travelers seeking sunshine or island getaways.
Service to Atlanta and Austin, both previously operated by JetBlue, is set to resume with daily and twice-daily frequencies, respectively. Tampa and Norfolk will be entirely new additions to FLL’s route map, with Tampa receiving daily service and Norfolk served five times per week.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, emphasized the significance of the expansion: “With new routes, more flights, and the expansion of our award-winning Mint experience, we’re continuing to offer more reasons for South Florida travelers to choose JetBlue.”
More Flights on Popular Domestic Routes
In addition to new cities, JetBlue will increase daily flight frequencies on several high-demand domestic routes. This includes additional service to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, and Richmond—routes that have seen consistent growth in passenger traffic.
These added flights will give travelers more options for scheduling, improve connectivity for business and leisure purposes, and better accommodate peak travel periods. The expanded schedule is also expected to reduce layover times for passengers with connecting flights.
Mark Gale, FLL CEO and Director of Aviation, welcomed the move: “The increased daily frequency on select high-demand U.S. routes this fall and the expanding availability of Mint will all benefit FLL travelers.”
Mint Class Expansion Elevates Travel Experience
One of the standout components of JetBlue’s expansion is the broader rollout of its premium Mint service. Already a popular option among business and luxury travelers, Mint features lie-flat seating, personalized hospitality, elevated dining, and additional comfort throughout the flight.
This winter, every JetBlue flight between Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco will offer Mint class. With 13 daily Mint-equipped flights from FLL, JetBlue now offers the highest number of domestic lie-flat seats from South Florida.
Mint has positioned JetBlue as a serious competitor in the premium market, especially for long-haul domestic routes where comfort and amenities are increasingly valued by frequent flyers.

- Fort Lauderdale – Los Angeles: 6x daily Mint service
- Fort Lauderdale – Las Vegas: 3x daily Mint service

- Fort Lauderdale – San Francisco: 2x daily Mint service (seasonal)
JetBlue’s Strategic Growth and Future Collaboration
Fort Lauderdale was JetBlue’s first destination 25 years ago, and the airline has steadily built it into one of its most important focus cities. With an average of 72 daily departures today and a planned increase to 95 daily flights serving 37 destinations by December 2025, JetBlue continues to deepen its commitment to the region.
The expansion is aligned with the airline’s previously announced 6% year-over-year growth in Fort Lauderdale departures. Additionally, JetBlue remains the leader in offering transcontinental lie-flat service from South Florida.
Later this year, JetBlue’s new Blue Sky collaboration with United Airlines will further increase its competitive edge. The partnership will allow loyalty program members to earn and redeem points on more than 125 daily JetBlue and United flights from FLL, providing more flexibility and rewards for frequent travelers.
