Rome to host stunning showcase of 70 classic Italian cars this April

Rome will host a major new automotive event from 16 to 19 April 2026, bringing together 70 historic Italian cars for the inaugural Anantara Concorso Roma.

The event, organised by Anantara Hotels & Resorts, takes place in the Italian capital and will be open to the public on 18 and 19 April, with day tickets priced at €95.

The showcase focuses exclusively on Italian automotive design and engineering, featuring vehicles from leading marques including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia and Fiat. The cars will compete across 16 classes, ranging from pre-war models to modern hypercars, highlighting decades of automotive heritage.

Among the vehicles confirmed for display are several rare and historically significant models. These include:

  • A 1932 Maserati V4 Sport Spider Zagato
  • A 1955 Ferrari 375 MM Coupé Speciale Ghia
  • A 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Interim Pinin Farina
  • A 1959 Lancia Flaminia Sport Sperimentale Zagato
  • A 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider

The event was originally scheduled for 2025 but was postponed following the passing of Pope Francis. Organisers say the additional time has allowed the programme to be expanded, with judging set to take place on Saturday 18 April and winners announced on Sunday 19 April.

William E. Heinecke, Founder & Chairman of Minor International, said: “There is a unique atmosphere in Rome and an incredible history of car racing and concours, so when we set out to establish a new concorso event for the world’s finest examples of historic Italian cars, the Eternal City was the obvious choice. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Roma Capitale, the people of Rome and to everyone who has made the event possible, and I am confident that with the support of our esteemed partners, we will successfully establish Anantara Concorso Roma as an annual event on the international concours calendar.”

The concours will be hosted at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel and is presented by UBS, with support from multiple international partners. A panel of 12 judges, led by Chief Judge Adolfo Orsi, will assess the vehicles, with additional specialist and honorary judges also involved.

Benjamin Cavalli, Head of Strategic Clients & Global Connectivity at UBS Global Wealth Management, said: “UBS is delighted to present the Anantara Concorso Roma – where exceptional craftsmanship, design and engineering converge. We’re excited to bring our global community together for this unique celebration of heritage and innovation.”

City officials say the event is expected to contribute to Rome’s international profile as a destination for major cultural and lifestyle events. Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Sport, Tourism, Fashion, and Major Events of Rome Capital, said: “Anantara Concorso Roma is a major international event that celebrates Italian lifestyle, envied worldwide, and helps convey a positive image of Rome.”

Alongside the automotive showcase, organisers confirmed a charitable component linked to the event. Fundraising efforts will support the creation of ACLI Rome’s Solidarity Pantry, including the purchase of refrigeration equipment and the development of storage and distribution facilities.

With public access across the final weekend, the event offers visitors a rare opportunity to view concours-level vehicles, many of which have undergone extensive restoration requiring hundreds or thousands of hours of work.
