Etihad Airways restarts flights to 70+ destinations including London and New York

Etihad Airways restarted a limited commercial flight schedule from 6 March, restoring connections between Abu Dhabi and more than 70 destinations worldwide, including London Heathrow and New York JFK.

The phased return allows passengers with existing bookings to travel while new tickets have also been made available for sale. All other scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended for now.

The airline said the decision followed extensive safety and security assessments carried out in coordination with relevant authorities. Flights will continue operating only once all safety criteria are met, and services may still be adjusted depending on regional airspace conditions.

Passengers were advised not to travel to the airport unless they had been contacted directly by the airline or held a confirmed booking on one of the newly scheduled flights. Etihad also warned travellers to check the latest schedule before departing, as not all destinations operate daily and timings may change.

The resumed network covers destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia and North America. Key routes scheduled between 6 March and 19 March include London Heathrow, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, Zurich, Vienna and Warsaw.

In North America, Etihad listed Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York JFK, Toronto and Washington among the destinations returning to the timetable. Services are also planned to operate to major Asian hubs such as Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur.

Additional flights are scheduled across the Indian subcontinent and Middle East, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Islamabad, Karachi, Muscat, Riyadh and Jeddah. Long-haul routes to Melbourne and Sydney are also included in the limited schedule.

The airline said more destinations may be added if conditions permit. All flights remain subject to operational approvals and regional airspace conditions.

Affected passengers are being contacted directly with updates regarding their bookings and available options. Travellers are encouraged to ensure their contact details are updated in their reservation and monitor email notifications from the airline.

Etihad said passengers holding tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026 with original travel dates up to 21 March 2026 may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to 15 May 2026. Guests travelling on any Etihad flights until 21 March may also request a refund through the airline’s website or via their travel agent.

The airline said it is currently experiencing a high volume of customer service calls and asked passengers to use online forms where possible when requesting refunds.

Safety remains the airline’s top priority, and Etihad said it will continue monitoring the situation closely as operations gradually return.
