LOT Polish Airlines has expanded its European route network just in time for the 2025 summer season with the launch of a new year-round service connecting Warsaw to Thessaloniki, the second-largest city in Greece. This move strengthens the airline’s presence in Southern Europe and offers travelers enhanced access to northern Greece’s scenic landscapes and rich culture.
The new route operates with daily flights during the summer and four times a week in winter, providing both tourists and business travelers greater flexibility. With two departure time patterns during the week, passengers can choose the schedule that suits them best, whether they’re heading for a beach getaway on the Khalkidhiki peninsula or attending meetings in Thessaloniki’s bustling commercial districts.
Flight Schedule and Options
Passengers flying between Warsaw and Thessaloniki can now benefit from a regular timetable that accommodates different travel preferences. Flights are operated by LOT Polish Airlines using its modern short- and medium-haul fleet, offering both Business Class and Economy Class service options.
Summer Season Schedule (Daily Flights):
- Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays: LO 605 departs Warsaw at 09:40, arrives in Thessaloniki at 12:55
LO 606 departs Thessaloniki at 13:55, arrives in Warsaw at 15:15 - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays: LO 607 departs Warsaw at 14:10, arrives in Thessaloniki at 17:25
LO 608 departs Thessaloniki at 18:25, arrives in Warsaw at 19:45
This rotation allows travelers to plan both early morning and mid-afternoon departures depending on the day of the week, increasing the route’s versatility and appeal for both leisure and business segments.
Strategic Importance of Thessaloniki
According to Amit Ray, Director for Italy, DACH Markets, Malta, and India, and Head of Global Corporate and Strategic Sales at LOT Polish Airlines, Thessaloniki represents a valuable addition to the airline’s network. “Following the recent launch of our new connections to Lisbon, Malta, and Reykjavik, Thessaloniki is another city that is of great interest to both tourists and business travellers,” he noted.
The city is known not only for its historical sites and seafront charm but also as a gateway to northern Greece’s natural attractions. From Thessaloniki, travelers can reach the beaches of Khalkidhiki, the mountainous trails of the north, and the archaeological wonders that dot the region. The city itself is also a significant commercial and economic hub, thanks to its large seaport and strategic location in the Balkans.
Strengthening LOT’s Regional and Global Network
This new Thessaloniki route continues LOT’s strategy of growing its European network while strengthening its position as a leading carrier in Central and Eastern Europe. The airline has been actively expanding its service portfolio, including recent additions to Lisbon, Malta, and Reykjavik, aiming to cater to both vacationers and professionals.
In addition to European growth, LOT continues to operate long-haul services to destinations such as the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and India. These routes are flown using Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offering premium service with modern comfort. LOT, established in 1929, is one of the world’s oldest airlines and remains a major player in the Star Alliance network.
