LOT Polish Airlines will launch new direct flights between Bologna and Warsaw on 30 March 2026, expanding its Italian network to four cities. The service will operate six times a week year-round using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering both morning and evening departures for added flexibility.
The Polish flag carrier, a member of Star Alliance, said the new route reflects strong demand for its growing global network via Warsaw Chopin Airport, which connects passengers from Italy to destinations across North America, Asia, and Europe. With the addition of Bologna, LOT now serves Milan, Rome, Venice, and Bologna in Italy.
Six Weekly Flights Offering Flexible Timings
The schedule will feature three morning departures—on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday—and three evening flights—on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. The morning service (LO-328) leaves Bologna at 11:40 and arrives in Warsaw at 13:50, while the evening service (LO-330) departs at 18:25 and lands at 20:35.
According to Amit Ray, Director Italy, DACH Markets, Malta + India and Head of Global Corporate and Strategic Sales at LOT Polish Airlines, “For several years now, we have been experiencing a very positive development in Italy with growing demand for our global flight services via Warsaw, particularly because the Chopin Airport in the Polish capital is ideally suited for connecting flights without long layovers.”
Ray added that 30 March 2026 marks two major milestones for the airline in Italy — the launch of its Bologna–Warsaw connection and the new Rome–Krakow service announced earlier this year.
Seamless Global Connections via Warsaw
From Bologna, passengers will be able to connect through Warsaw to several long-haul destinations, including New York, Chicago, Tokyo, Seoul, and Delhi, as well as regional routes such as Krakow, Stockholm, and Tallinn. LOT highlighted the efficiency of its Warsaw hub, which allows smooth transfers to more than 120 destinations across four continents.
The flights from Bologna to Warsaw are now available for booking on lot.com and through authorized travel agents. The airline’s expansion in Italy underscores its strategy of strengthening its position in Central and Eastern Europe while improving connectivity for both leisure and business travelers.
Founded in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines operates one of the youngest fleets in Europe and flies to destinations in North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Its long-haul routes are served by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while European services — including the new Bologna route — are operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
