Southwest Airlines partners with Condor for transatlantic connectivity

Southwest Airlines has announced a new partnership with German carrier Condor, expanding transatlantic travel options by integrating domestic U.S. connections with Condor’s long-haul services beginning January 19, 2026. The agreement links Condor’s Frankfurt hub with Southwest’s network through coordinated itineraries at six U.S. airports.

According to the airlines, the partnership enables single-ticket journeys combining Condor’s international flights with Southwest-operated domestic segments at Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, and Seattle. Bookings are now available through Condor, travel agencies, and online platforms.

New Transatlantic Access

The partnership allows Condor customers to connect across dozens of U.S. cities using Southwest’s expansive network. Southwest, which serves more than 70 destinations from Las Vegas alone, said the alliance strengthens onward mobility for international travelers while complementing its existing portfolio of overseas airline partnerships. Condor currently flies to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

Southwest Airlines Chief Operating Officer Andrew Watterson said the collaboration broadens opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic. “Adding Condor to our portfolio of partners brings transatlantic journeys between dozens of airports in the U.S. and exciting and aspirational places Condor serves,” said Watterson. He also noted that partnerships highlight Southwest’s operational reliability and the growing range of travel experiences it offers.

Convenience for Travelers

Condor leaders emphasized that the new link will streamline travel planning and expand access to major U.S. markets. Mikko Turtiainen, Condor Director Sales, the Americas, said, “With the expansion of Condor’s partner network in North America, travelers benefit from a wider range of seamless and convenient travel options. The collaboration with Southwest Airlines enhances Condor’s transatlantic connectivity and provides our customers with an extended route network.”

The partnership adds Condor to a growing list of international airlines connected to Southwest’s domestic operations. Southwest currently partners with five overseas carriers, linking its network with destinations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The company said the agreements help expand access while maintaining consistency with its customer experience standards.

Southwest is also preparing internal upgrades to support its evolving long-haul connectivity strategy. The carrier plans to introduce assigned seating and extra-legroom options beginning January 27, 2026, aligning its product offerings more closely with international airline norms. A redesigned cabin experience is also underway as the airline adapts to increased demand for flexible global travel.

The partnership comes as carriers continue adjusting networks to meet growing transatlantic demand. For travelers, the new agreement offers additional itinerary choices, streamlined transfers, and the ability to combine domestic and international segments on a single ticket. Both airlines anticipate that the collaboration will improve long-haul connectivity between Europe and the United States while supporting continued growth in international travel.
